Learn. Grow. Thrive.
Shape your child’s future at the Somerset Valley YMCA child care centers where we educate, care for and nurture children ages 6 weeks through 5 years old. We use a developmentally appropriate curriculum and an individualized approach to learning. We spark a love for learning by expanding upon your child’s natural curiosity through educational creative play.
Our holistic approach to early childhood education prepares children to explore, enjoy, and understand the world around them. While we have a strong academic program, we also believe that learning is about building relationships and growing socially, emotionally, and cognitively.
Our caring staff makes our day care facility a home-away-from-home where your child feels confident and secure.
Our child care programs are fully licensed by the State of New Jersey.
We are proud to be part of Healthy U, an award-winning, statewide initiative to combat childhood obesity in the child care setting.
Healthy U uses the CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) Curriculum to educate children about healthy eating and incorporates 30 minutes of physical activity at least three times during the week.

INFANT CARE (6 weeks to 18 months)
Children in our infant classroom develop their cognitive and sensory skills through music and sign language lessons. They also grow their motor skills through educational play. Each infant sleeps, eats, and plays on their own schedule.
Toddlers explore the world through hands-on activities that include cooking, stories, music, sports, and science in group settings that enhance their social skills. We also introduce them to shapes, colors, letters, and numbers at this age.
PRE-SCHOOL (2 1/2 to 4 years old)
Children in our preschool classes participate in engaging group activities. They expand upon their social and cognitive skills by recognizing patterns, sequences, numbers, and letters through interactive projects. In our Little Sprouts Extended and Full Day programs, children get hands-on with science, cooking, gym, and weekly swim lessons (for children who are potty-trained).
PREKINDERGARTEN (4 to 5 years old)
Children acquire kindergarten readiness skills by working together to explore the worlds of science, math, literacy, and social studies. Our pre-K students learn the alphabet, develop pre-writing and pre-reading skills, as well as work with early number concepts. In our Little Sprouts Extended and Full Day programs, children get hands-on with science, cooking, gym, and weekly swim lessons.
