YMCA Child Development
Shape your child’s future at the Y. Where children learn, grow and thrive.
Our Child Development Centers provide care in an environment that fosters the growth and development of children and their families in a safe and nurturing environment. We meet the needs of our youngsters by providing experiences that enrich and enhance their cognitive, social and emotional development. Children develop a positive self-concept through a balanced academic curriculum, structured fitness activities, enrichment classes and weekly swim lessons. Please call our Hillsborough (908 369-0490) or Somerville (908 722-4567) branches to schedule an appointment with our knowledgeable caring staff. School Age Program
When you can’t be there, we will.
The hours children spend outside of the classroom are critical to their growth and development. At the Y, we makes certain that the time gaps after school are filled creatively and constructively. Kids have the opportunity work on their homework assignments, as well as to express their talents in the arts, sports and other areas of interest, taking advantage of all the Y has to offer. After-school Programs are available at the Hillsborough and Somerville Family YMCAs.
Our pre-school and school-age programs participate in Healthy U, a collaborative partnership between the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance and the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey. The program’s goal is combating childhood obesity through education on nutrition and healthy eating, phys ed, and family involvement.
