Fall 2014 Fitness Class Descriptions and Schedule

20/20/20

20 minutes of each: Hi/Lo aerobics, sculpting/toning, and core. (All levels)

Tuesdays 6-7 a.m.

 Beginner Step-n-Sculpt

This class combines interval training on the step combined with strength training moves for a total body workout. This is a beginner class for individuals who would like to learn step.

Thursdays 6-6:45 p.m.

Body Sculp22ting

Enjoy a total body lifting experience, and help your bones remain strong. The fringe benefit? Killer arms! (All levels)

Mondays 5:30-6:15 p.m.

Boot Camp

All the best of “Army Training” with fun thrown in to boot! This class contains classic conditioning training and mixes in out-of-the-ordinary drills, for a challenging total body workout. Expect to be outside for this fun workout when weather permits! (All levels)

Cardio/Strength

50% Cardio and 50% Strength. (All levels)

Cardio Dance

A dance based cardio workout using the latest dance moves and music. You’ll learn moves that will make you break a sweat, but also make you feel like you are on the dance floor. (All levels)

Saturdays 10-10:50 a.m.

12Circuit Training

A fast paced, total body workout alternating between strength and cardio exercises. (All levels)

Mondays 6-6:45 a.m.

Tuesdays 9:30-10:20 a.m.

Wednesdays 6-6:45 a.m. and 6:30-7:15 p.m.

Core Training

Develop strength and stability in the body’s core which translates to more cycling power, improved balance and enhanced functional movement. (All levels)

Mondays 10:30-11:15 a.m.

Family Zumba

All ages are welcome. Bring just yourself; bring your kids; bring your grandkids! (All levels)

Fridays 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Functional Fitness

By strength training, stretching, and balance exercises, you can slow down the aging process as well as perform your daily activities easier. Geared toward mature adults who are making health and fitness a top priority. Everyone is welcome to join. (All levels)

H.I.I.T. (High Intensity Interval Training)

An exercise strategy alternating between periods of short intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods. These short, intense workouts provide improved athletic capacity and condition, glucose metabolism, and fat burning. (All levels)

Tuesdays 7-7:30 a.m.

Thursdays 7-7:30 a.m. and 5:30-6 p.m.

Kettlebell

A full body workout for building power strength and endurance using kettlebells. (All levels)

Thursdays 6-6:45 a.m.

On the Ball

Use an exercise ball to increase strength, flexibility, and balance in this 30 minute class. (All levels)

Wednesdays 7:30-8 p.m.

Fridays 9-9:30 a.m.

Pilates

This mat based class strengthens and tones muscles, improves postures, provides flexibility and balance, and unites body and mind. (All levels)

Sundays 9 – 9:50 a.m.

Power Yoga69

For the student familiar with yoga and experienced in Sun Salutations, this class will challenge you with intermediate poses. (Intermediate – Advanced)

Spin-N-Flex

Get your Cardio Sweat on….then pump it out with Resistance training. (All levels)

Tuesdays 6-7 p.m.

Thursdays 6-7 p.m.

Step

This interval-based class combines strength training with cardio drills on the step. Work at your own pace! (All levels)

Fridays 9:30-10:15 a.m.

Strength Interval

Challenge your muscles and kick start your metabolism. By lifting weights, you will build muscle and prevent bone loss. (All levels)

Fridays 6-6:45 a.m.

Tai Chi/Qigong

Tai Chi’s slow, connected movements prevent bone fatigue, improve circulation, build speed, improve balance, reduce hypertension and more! (All levels)

Mondays 8-9 a.m.

Thursdays 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Walk & Workout

Meet 3 days a week for your “back to basics” workout.  2 mile walk outside, followed by Strength inside (Monday – chest/triceps, Wednesday -legs/shoulders, Fridays – back/biceps). (All levels)

Y Cycle

Group cycling suits all ranges of abilities and fitness goals. Our certified instructors will have you pedaling to motivating music. Classes are first come/first served. (Members: make sure to pick up a ‘reserved’ tag from the Welcome Center up to 15 minutes before class to save your bike.) (All levels)

Mondays 5:30-6:25 a.m., 9:30-10:15 a.m., 6:30-7:25 p.m., and 7:30-8:25 p.m.

Yoga/Ashtanga Yoga

We’ll lead you through poses that build strength, flexibility and lengthen your muscles. Meditation and relaxation conclude the workout. (All levels)

Yoga-Pilates Fusion

This class combines elements of Pilates and yoga through various relaxation techniques and body strengthening poses. (All levels)

Thursdays 6-6:45 a.m.

Zumba

Created by Miami-based dancer Beto Perez, Zumba uses dance steps to Latin and international music, combined with aerobic exercises, to tone your entire body in a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness system. (All levels)

Tuesdays 12:30-1:30 p.m. and 6-6:55 p.m.

Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Thursdays 12:30-1:30 p.m. and 7-8 p.m.
